September 1: Kosteniuk Plans ahead
Hello everybody!
September 1 is a big holiday in Russia, the Day of Knowledge. All children start their school on this day, they bring flowers to their teachers, and some of them hear the ring of the school bell for the first time in their lives. While thinking about the days where I also went to school and cherishing these memories in my heart, I’m also trying to prepare for the next very interesting starts such as the Women’s World Blitz Chess Championship 2010, the final part of which will take place on September 17-18 in Moscow. The games will be transmitted live and the event should have the live coverage as well so you will be able to follow it online.
Right after the world blitz, I will go to Khanty-Mansiysk where will play for the Russian National team-1. There will also be Tatiana and Nadezhda Kosintseva, Valentina Gunina and Alisa Galliamova playing in my team “Russia-1”. The main coach has not yet determined the order of the boards, that will be done just before the start of the Olympiads. Since the Olympiad is taking place in Russia, there will be teams for Russia-2 and Russia-3 as well.
In October I will give a simul in Sierre, while in November I’m planning to participate in the Russian Superfinal which is scheduled for November 16-27. Right after that I will go to Kaliningrad where the 4th cup of Alexandra Kosteniuk for kids under 6-10 will take place. You can read the regulations of this event here.
And the last but definitely not least event of the year is the Women’s World Chess Championship which shall take place from December 2 to December 25, 2010 in Turkey.
So this fall promises to be very busy and I will keep you posted and share with you the most interesting moments.
That’s me on my first day of school 🙂 And below is another photo of me and my sister Oxana with my Mom, also on September 1, the first day of school of Oxana.
