Russia beats China 2012 in Saint Petersburg

Chess Queen Alexandra Kosteniuk plays in the Russian team vs. ChinaI was in Saint Petersburg last week to play in the prestigious Russia vs. China chess match. The event has men and men sections of 5 players each and is played in both classical (5 games) and rapid sections (10 games). This year in the men section, Russia was on top, while in the women, China won. Chess Queen Kosteniuk Plays in Russia – China Chess Match in Saint Petersburg

Chess Queen Kosteniuk plays in St. PetersburgTomorrow July 1, the prestigious yearly chess match Russia vs. China will take place in Saint Petersburg, Russia, until July 9. Will play 5 men and 5 women, in both classical and rapid chess. For Russia, men: Tomashevsky, Jakovenko, Nepomniachtchi, Vitiugov, Matlakov, for women: Valentina Gunina, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Natalia Pogonina, Olga Girya, Baira Kovanova.
