Kaliningrad get the visit of Chess Queen Kosteniuk
I visited the city of Kaliningrad on Wednesday for meetings to prepare for the “Alexandra Kosteniuk Chess Cup for Kids U-6, U-8 and U-10”, that will take place in Svetlogorsk (see tournament announcement) on November 26 & 27, 2011.
I made a post in Russian at this link, but for the moment I will share with you some nice photos of that day trip below.
First of all, let me show you where Kaliningrad is:
I flew to Kaliningrad on the same flight as Mariya Kiselyova, Olympic Gold Medalist in Synchronized Swimming, and we were met by the Vice-Minister of Sports Oleg Kosenkov. See also the Trivia Post I made on www.chessblog.com where the answer was Mariya.

After the Press Conference dedicated to the upcoming tournament I gave a chess simul to 12 talented kids of the Kaliningrad region.
After the hard-fought simul and a short lunch break, I visited the Baltic Academy of Fish Industry.
May all your dreams come true!
Yours truly,
Alexandra Kosteniuk

Hey that’s so cool. I bet the kids were overjoyed. Thanks Alexandra. Hope one day you have a simul here in Madrid too.
