Alexandra arrived in Elista for the 2004 World Chess ChampionshipAlexandra is now in Elista (Kalmmykia, Russia), to participate in the Women’s Chess World Championships 2004. The strongest 64 women chess players of the planet are participating, and the event promises to be most interesting! The format is a double-game knock-out, with the number of players going from 64-32-16-8-4-2-winner after 6 rounds. You will recall that in the last World Championships in Moscow in December 2001, Alexandra went all the way to the final and won the title of Vice-Champion of the World. Tomorrow will be the first round, in which Alexandra will play Maria Sergeeva (Kazakhstan). Wish her luck! Come to visit often and see our reports!
