Chess and Tennis
In less than 2 weeks I will be flying to Europe where I will be participating in many interesting chess tournaments such as the Russian Team Championship, the Russian Blitz and Rapid Championships and the Women’s Individual European Chess Championship. I will make sure to keep you posted about the results and my games.
But for the moment I’m at the Sony Ericsson Tennis Open (click more… for photos)
I’m in Miami and enjoying wonderful sunny days. Since my tournaments are approaching I’m trying to study chess several hours every day, but of course I don’t forget to follow my fitness routine which includes jogging, tennis and yoga.
However, today I changed my daily routine a little bit and had a chance to visit the Sony Ericsson Open that is taking place right now in Key Biscayne. One of the Russian tennis players of the field – Vera Zvonareva invited me to root for her in her match against Jarmila Groth. I jumped to this wonderful opportunity and was very delighted to watch a very powerful win from Vera. It’s always nice to see the top players of the world in action, the same goes not only to tennis but to other sports as well. Their desire and passion for the game and fight for every single point is inspiring. And it’s so great to be right in the center of the action!
See some photos from yesterday below:
The weather and tennis were perfect yesterday, I had a great time watching great tennis, rooting for Vera Zvonoreva (@verazvonareva on Twitter), tweeting about it from both of my Twitter accounts @chessqueen and @kosteniuk, and enjoying the +30 degrees centigrade blue skies.
